The Birthday Babes

The Hat Girls LOVE a good birthday celebration!  Wow...they know how to do it right!  Read on to hear about the most recent birthday celebrations for these two girls and their custom birthday hats went.    Amanda's birthday is the day after Christmas.  Because of this, she tends to celebrate BIG so her day is not overshadowed.  Being a wine lover, Amanda likes to spend her birthday at the wineries.  Amanda and company have done limo busses to the wineries in the past and had a blast.  This past year, she invited her closest friends to come and enjoy the wineries and lunch in Temecula to celebrate her spin around the sun. The crew visited South Coast Winery in Temecula, California where everyone had a delicious lunch and enjoyed some fantastic wine while catching up with friends.  We enjoyed a tour through the property in the cutest "extra long" golf cart!   After lunch, we headed to Wiens winery for a private tasting in an outdoor ...

St. Patrick's Day Fun

Image
This might be The United States rather than Ireland, but St. Patrick's Day is still a day to wear your green and celebrate with friends, shamrocks, and green drinks! Read on for a little history on this fun day and to see how the Hat Girls celebrate! The Hat Girls on St. Paddy's Day 2022 The tradition started in Ireland and the green is a nod to the rolling green hills of the country known as the Emerald Isle.  Here in the states, the Hat Girls have celebrated many St. Patrick's Day's together and we are always in our green!  Did you know that the reason wear green is so that leprechauns can't see you?  Such a fun tradition of avoiding the pinches of the mischevious little guys!  While the day is tradionally meant to celebrate Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, it has become a day the is commemorated with parades, festivals, irish music, a fun nightlife scene, and of course friends!   The crew at Grand Avenue Bar and Grill on St. Patrick's D...

Hat Girls On The Go!

Image
Did you know that one of our favorite things to do is travel?  It's true!  Both Hat Girls love to be on the go.  We have traveled many times together and always have a blast.  We also travel with friends and family quite often.   Recently, we both checked out for the weekend and hit the road.   Read on to hear about where we went! Amanda stayed in Southern California and went to see some family and visit her husband all in the same trip.  Her hubby works for Chino Fire and was on shift over the weekend.  Turns out, her cousin's family was at a soccer tournament nearby and she got to see them as well.  A friend's daughter was also in the same tournament so she got to enjoy dinner and some fun with that family too.  Rae Marie became part of  Chino fire when Amanda snapped this pic...Hot Hot Hot!!! After a day of fun with friends, family, and the fire crew, Amanda headed home.  She had a blast! Lynn left Southern Califor...

High Tea for the Hat Girls

Image
This week, we got to spend some time with our friends and all our of mamas at high tea.  You might be wondering what high tea is, so here's a spot of info! A group of nine of us, including Lynn, her Mama, Amanda, her Mama, and some friends with their Mama and kids made our way up to San Juan Capistrano.  In the quaint little town lies the Tea House on Los Rios .  It claims to be Orange County's Premier High Tea Experience.  From our experience, this is more than just a claim...this is a fact!   Each gal in our group got to choose from a menu that included a la carte food or tea experiences.  We had a mixture of both at our table but everyone had tea!  All the teapots were individually assigned to each guest and each teapot was unique.  The whimsical designs and bright colors really added to the beauty of our table decor.  Our teas ranged in flavor from hibiscus to chocolate mint.  There were so many to choose from and all were excel...

The Hat Girls are Charger Fans

Image
In honor of Super Bowl weekend, we are sharing our story about our love of football...mainly the Chargers! Well, the truth is, Lynn loves the Chargers and Amanda just kind of tolerates that we have to watch football for a few months a year.  Lynn was born into a Charger family.  In fact, she often says that she bleeds blue and gold.  Games, tailgates, and bolt gear have been a tradition since as long as she can remember.  Amanda married into a Chargers family.  While she doesn't know the difference between a tight end and a quarerback, you will always see her rocking the best in Bolt apparel!  HA HA! We both spent many Sundays at Qualcomm stadium in San Diego as season ticket holders over the years.  We have traveled to away games, cheered loudly from many stands, and shared in the joy of some wins and the heartbreak of many losses.  Over the years, the Chargers became a way of life for both of us and a fun way to spend time together. When the tea...

Rae Marie Out On The Town

Image
This past weekend, the Hat Girls had a chance to spend a night out with some of our best friends and family.  Amanda happens to love Nick Swardson and the movie Grandma's Boy.  When she found out he was going to be performing in La Jolla, she wanted us all to go.  We had the best night with 6 others in our crew and we made hats for the occasion...of course! Each friend got to pick his or her favorite one liner from a Nick Swardson movie or show.  They sent it to us and we made matching hats for all of us to wear.  From the time we all met up and put them on, the laughter was endless.   We rode the Coaster, a train that takes us into San Diego, and got a LOT of attention with our matching hats.  People were laughing, commenting, and telling us what a great idea the hats were.  We made our way to Old Town, San Diego for some authentic Mexican food and cocktails and got more attention walking down the main street and eating at Cafe Coyote...
