St. Patrick's Day Fun

This might be The United States rather than Ireland, but St. Patrick's Day is still a day to wear your green and celebrate with friends, shamrocks, and green drinks!

Read on for a little history on this fun day and to see how the Hat Girls celebrate!

The Hat Girls on St. Paddy's Day 2022

The tradition started in Ireland and the green is a nod to the rolling green hills of the country known as the Emerald Isle.  Here in the states, the Hat Girls have celebrated many St. Patrick's Day's together and we are always in our green!  Did you know that the reason wear green is so that leprechauns can't see you?  Such a fun tradition of avoiding the pinches of the mischevious little guys!  While the day is tradionally meant to celebrate Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, it has become a day the is commemorated with parades, festivals, irish music, a fun nightlife scene, and of course friends!

One of our most memorable St. Patrick's Days together was spent in Chino with the Chino Valley Fire Department.  The department hosted an event with music, food, and  a lot of fun.  Everyone got to enjoy some traditional Irish food, green drinks, and live music by a famous Irish band as well as the bagpipe crew of the Inland Empire.  We danced a few jigs with our friends and had a blast.

We have also spent years at our local "Irish Pub" in Carslbad with friends  and family enjoying all the festivities.  From green drinks to Irish nachos, Hennesy's provides all the fun you want on St. Patrick's Day!  This year, they had the Riverside Fire Pipe and Drums play to end the evening.  It was amazing and we all had a great time.

The Hat Girls also designed a few special hats for St. Patrick's Day this year.  If you saw us out on March 17th, you saw which style each girl chose to wear for the occasion!  Check our our Instagram page or our Etsy site to order your hat for next year.
